THE FOUNDATION
WHAT IS HAPLOS?

 A foundation.
A family.
A community for Love and Service.

  • OUR OBJECTIVES
HAPLOS was established to help members attain a better quality of life and be meaningful contributors to the greater good of the Filipino. Haplos programs are aimed to enable People with Hemophilia (PWH) to be physically active, mentally sharp, socially involved, emotionally healthy, spiritually strong citizens who are willing and able to participate in nation building.

  • OUR VISION
Haplos is a community of committed and empowered members, where people with hemophilia and other related bleeding disorders experience better quality of life by being physically active, mentally sharp, socially involved, emotionally healthy, spiritually strong citizens who are willing and able to participate in nation building.

  • OUR MISSION
To foster the care, management and better understanding of hemophilia and similar bleeding disorders by making available support, treatment and basic education to people with hemophilia and their families.

  • OUR PRINCIPLES AND BELIEFS
We believe that in managing the affairs of HAPLOS, there must be a complementary relationship between being a strong community and being contributors to the greater good of society. That is, "doing good for oneself and doing good for others". Each gives strength and sustenance to the other and vice versa. It is also called the principle of "life begets life".

We believe that we can only be sustainable when our members are relating with one another in a community way of life, sharing common values, ideals, beliefs and aspirations with the end view of mutual support for one another.

We further believe that we are called to be a community for Love and Service.

THE HAPLOS LOGO

The HAPLOS logo epitomizes the closely knit bonding of the Filipino family. It symbolizes the uncompromising commitment that PWH parents have towards providing adequate care to their afflicted sons. The logo also reflects the undying gratefulness of the PWH son to his parents selfless concern. HAPLOS links together every Filipino with hemophilia to his family and his community in a genuine spirit of humanitarian sympathy, cooperation and understanding.

The color green in the logo symbolizes the dynamic of health and life, a spirit of growth, hope, self-respect and well being which are the values that Haplos would like to have as a community and as an organization.

  • THE MEANING OF HAPLOS

HAPLOS is a Filipino word which means caress, light massage with a hand or gentle touch. Appropriate for its symbolism, HAPLOS is soothing like a mothers touch and gentle like a fathers wisdom. It represents the human desire to extend both physical and emotional support to Filipinos with hemophilia and their families by bridging both scientific information and humanitarian concerns to its members.

In the end, HAPLOS aims to create not only a new breed of persons with hemophilia who understand what they have but more importantly a new generation of persons with hemophilia who can confidently make others understand what they have, what they can do and what they can offer.
